AgroBot

I initially authored this research paper as a mini-research for the Young Scientists Summit 2021. The goal is simple: combine a Machine Learning Algorithm with IoT to make an agriculture buddy robot.

The AgroBot project aims to revolutionize agriculture in Nepal, where approximately 70% of the population relies on farming. By integrating advanced technologies like IoT and machine learning, the AgroBot enhances agricultural productivity through automated watering, grass cutting, and soil moisture monitoring. Central to its functionality is a Raspberry Pi equipped with a machine-learning algorithm that analyzes plant leaves for disease detection using image processing techniques.

The system communicates via Bluetooth, allowing farmers to control it using a smartphone, making it user-friendly and accessible. With capabilities to diagnose plant health and automate watering based on soil moisture levels, AgroBot addresses the challenges faced by the agricultural sector in Nepal. This innovative approach aims to increase crop yields and promote sustainable practices, ultimately contributing to the country’s agricultural development and food security.
